A Royal Invitation

King Henry VIII and Queen Anne Boleyn invite you to attend a day of feasting and frolic at Revel Grove. In honor of the Royal Visit, the villagers have staged a fantastical Autumn Celebration. Variety performers, musicians, actors and merrymakers will dazzle and delight. Thrill to a full contact armored joust. The Royal Chefs have been preparing food and drink to tempt your regal palate. The country's finest artisans will be on hand with their wondrous array of hand crafted wares.

Take a step back in history! The Maryland Renaissance Festival has been delighting visitors since 1977, with our recreation of a 16th century English village called Revel Grove. The walled village is set on a beautiful 125-acre wooded site with 85 acres of free parking, and includes a Jousting Arena, eight large stages, five pubs, and lots of games, food and craft booths. We are conveniently located in Crownsville, Maryland just outside historic Annapolis. We are just 20 minutes from either the Baltimore or Washington Beltways.

We offer a huge variety of foods, drink, stage shows, and street performances. Festivities begin at 10:15 with the King's Welcome. The gates open at 10:30 after the Royal Entourage enters the village. Free programs are available at our Information Booth just inside the main gate. Or, if you prefer, just stroll through the lanes and let the village unfold before your eyes.

Pause to listen to our musicians or watch a 16th century dance demonstration. Watch various artisans demonstrate their craft, such as glass blowing, woodworking, coin making, juggling or magic.
